Meet the Administrative Team:
Marianne joined our team in 2000. In her current role as Administrative Assistant her excellent attention to detail is essential in handling a variety of internal functions for the team. She is in charge of TPA invoicing and payments and tracking and posting commissions for our UP clients. Marianne also maintains our email distribution lists and handles outgoing email blasts to those clients. She also assists the team with other various administrative tasks, reports and special projects.
Marianne lives in Marquette with her husband David. She been blessed with 3 children and 3 amazing grandchildren who are the light of her life. Family gatherings are very important to her. She is an avid reader and very good at knitting and crocheting. She likes camping and sitting on her deck swing and enjoying Lake Superior. When the cold winds and frigid temperature chase her indoors she loves relaxing by the fire with a glass of good Reisling, her knitting or crocheting and watching the waves while listening to the roar of the lake.
Carol works as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper here at 44North. Her main duties are to assist the accounting department mainly Rose Solander (our business manager) with all the behind the scenes maintenance to keep the ship sailing smoothly.
In her free time she really enjoys taking long walks, bike rides, and snowshoes (not all in the same day) along the gorgeous Lake Superior shore or on any of the beautiful trails in the U.P. Her and her husband, Joe have two children, a daughter (Nora) and a son (Colin) and two fur babies, pugs, Puck and Gordie. Carol’s family spends a lot of time at the ice rink. Her daughter is very involved in figure skating and her son and husband are both avid hockey players.
Erica supports the whole company in her department, making sure the client’s processed claims that are ready for payment, are sent out in a timely manner. She has been with the company a little over two years and has quickly become an expert in her field. What she enjoys the most is seeing a complicated issue get resolved and that her staff or client can rest assured that they were well taken care of.
Erica is recently new to the area and moved here with her husband and children. She and her family enjoy their 40 acres hunting and hiking outdoors whenever they get the chance. She is pursuing her degree in Medical Office Administration in her free time and also enjoys going to her children’s many sporting activities. When she is not studying, you will find Erica snuggled down with a good book.
Lori works with our TPA Department assisting with enrollments, routing and handling the office mail deliveries. She has been with the company for over three years and enjoys working with her teammates here at 44North. One of the most rewarding aspects of her position is helping clients get connected to the right support team member. When she is doing enrollments it gives her a satisfied feeling knowing that people are getting the coverage that they need.
Lori hails from Mesick, Michigan and lives there with her family. She loves to cook and provide for her family. She volunteers at her church, supporting them whenever a church dinner is needed or making care baskets for college students or the sick in her community. She also finds time to volunteer at the school in the concessions. In the summer she likes to go for walks in the woods, exploring the forested area along the river where she lives.
Kris works hand in hand with TPA Management and Compliance Department, with a concentration on creating and processing our clients’ benefit plan documents and contracts. She also plays a supporting role for the staff in doing document research and plan changes; customizing documents as the need arises with the ever changing insurance industry. Our Claims Analysts in our call center rely on Kris for up-to-date plan information to provide our clients and their employees the best possible service in a timely manner.
Kris has been with the company for several years and has developed an efficient and streamlined process for getting a professional product to the client. While Kris works behind the scenes, she is always thinking about our clients’ and staffs needs and how to better serve them.
Kris resides in the beautiful City of Cadillac, Michigan with her husband, Mike, and their two sons. When Kris isn’t at the office she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, whether at the kitchen table, on the slopes in the winter or down at the lake in the summer. When it’s time to relax, you’ll find Kris reading a good book, knitting or spinning yarn, or watching a movie or a favorite sports team.
Michael heads our IT department leveraging technology to meet operational goals. He works with hardware and software vendors to make available the tools needed to better serve our company's clients and researches opportunities to improve our processes. He has over 25 years of experience in the information technology field and enjoys the challenge of automating behind-the-scenes processes to give our analysts more time to work directly with our clients.
Michael lives in Cadillac, Michigan with his wife, Kristine, and their son, Ian, while their oldest son, Sean, lives and works in Tucson, AZ. The whole family enjoys skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. During the summer they play tennis, go for walks, and play an occasional round of golf. Michael and the boys enjoy shooting sports and visit the local range frequently, and the local YMCA is also a popular spot for this family all through the year.
Sarah works with our service team providing insight and direction for the moving parts of our service department, ensuring organizational efficiency, customer service superiority, and reinforcing a company philosophy of not accepting the status quo. Her involvement in a wide range of roles at 44North started in 2007 writing plan documents for our TPA and gaining knowledge at many levels of the agency as a Customer Service Representative, Underwriter, and Marketing Coordinator. Drawing from this experience allows her to support the team in continuous improvement and expansion of our service offerings.
Sarah lives with her family in the Cadillac area. She enjoys volunteering as a Sunday school teacher of 3-4 year olds at her church. She likes to travel, especially to areas with a rich historical past, but loves the peace and small town feel of her home in Northern Michigan where she occasionally craves the benefits of larger city life when she has an overwhelming urge to find the next “perfect” pair of shoes.
Barb is the receptionist in the Marquette, MI office of 44North. She joined our team in 2013. She is a Northern Michigan University graduate. As the first contact customers have, Barb plays an integral role in providing an excellent customer experience. Whether you are calling in or walking in, she will assist you in getting you to the right team member.
Barb and her youngest of three children live in Marquette, MI. Enjoying the outdoors is her favorite thing to do. You can find her on her mountain bike, cruiser bike, snowshoes, cross country skis or downhill skis with her great friends and family when she isn’t at 44North.
Deb works in our Enrollment department. She is one of the first faces you will meet when you visit our Cadillac office. She also is one of our friendly phone operators that help direct clients to one of our helpful Claims Analysts or Customer Service Representatives.
Deb has lived in Northern Michigan most of her life, and lives with her husband of 34 years. They enjoy traveling and scuba diving. She is an avid reader of most anything but loves a good murder mystery.
Chris has been an instrumental part of the team since September 2003. She is licensed by the State of Michigan for Health, Life and Accident Insurance and is also a Chartered Benefit Consultant. Chris manages the TPA Department that started with just 1 1/2 people to more than 20 employees today and still growing. She thrives on keeping our clients compliant while helping them save premium and tax dollars using creative plan designs including HRAs, HSAs and Flexible Spending Accounts.
Chris relocated her family from Southeast Michigan to Tustin, Michigan in July of 2000 and never wants to move back to the City. Most of the time you will find Chris sitting at her desk, but when she isn’t, she enjoys reading mysteries, camping, scuba diving (in tropical locations) and spending time with her granddaughter. She is also looking forward to her daughter graduating from Michigan State University.

Shanna has been with 44North for short time but has become an integral part of the team in her new position. She supports many different areas in the TPA and COBRA Departments as well as with the customer service area of the company. Shanna is enjoying learning about the different areas in the insurance industry and looks forward to her future here at the company.
Shanna is a native of the Cadillac area and lives here with her husband and children. When Shanna isn’t at work, you will find her spending time with her family enjoying a friendly game or watching a good movie. In her free time, when she finds time for herself, Shanna will grab a good book to read. If Shanna had an all-expense paid trip she would love to go on a tour of New York City, taking in the shops, fine cuisine and museums.
Minnie works in the enrollment department assigning member changes to the processors and auditing enrollments. She works closely with the TPA, COBRA, and Employee Navigator teams to ensure a smooth flow of information among the many areas that comprise the enrollment team.
Minnie feels Cadillac is among the most beautiful spots in Michigan, during the summer. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. If she was given an all -expenses paid trip she would like to go back to Hawaii.
CARRIER DIRECT FEED PROCESSOR
Cheri works directly with our TPA department, making sure that our Claims Analysts in our Call Center receive the information they need to review our clients’ claims for correct processing. She is licensed in life, accident and health insurance. Cheri has been with the company for 6 years and continues to be a supportive team member helping train our Claims Analysts in different aspects of claims processing. She runs daily reports for the Claims Analysts for expedient and efficient processing for our clients. In addition to this, Cheri keeps our provider database up to date verifying correct contact information for billing.
Cadillac, Michigan is where Cheri calls home. She grew up in the area and has currently lived here for 6 years. In her spare time, Cheri likes to spend time with her husband, Ronnie, traveling to see her grandbabies and family. She also likes to read, watch movies, travel, and explore the Michigan wine country. If she had an all-expense paid trip, she and her husband would go where it is warm with sand beaches and wine, which means she’s going to Italy!
Allen works in our Information Technology Department and is responsible for keeping the technological side of our operations up and running. He maintains the servers, networks, and workstations at each of our sites, as well as mans the help desk. He has 10+ years experience in information technology and is the primary point of contact for our employees when an IT issue arises.
Allen lives in Cadillac, Michigan with his wife Margaret, and their four children: Leona, Hollye, Greg and Rachel. They enjoy going on family adventures to various locations across Michigan and having as much fun as possible together. Being a “typical IT nerd”, he is a fan of Star Trek, Doctor Who, and enjoys playing games on his PC. Allen likes to go fishing with his kids, deer hunting, playing paintball, and is rarely seen without a cup of coffee in his hand.
