With a business card and a promise, Brian took his working experience with a number of healthcare systems in Minnesota including Mayo and started 44North nearly twenty years ago. Today his business has become one of largest privately held benefit providers in the state servicing nearly 40,000 lives and over 400 businesses. For each of these businesses Brian sees 44North's role as a critical piece in helping improve people’s lives by providing clarity for much of the confusion that exists, removing many of the unnecessary medical bills that occur and providing medical pricing transparency that, unfortunately, healthcare is deeply lacking.
Although the dream of being a lead singer in a chart topping band or going toe-to-toe in the final round of the Masters for the coveted green jacket may be behind Brian, each day he still chases his dreams. Anyone whom has met Brian understands he loves being Active (never to be confused as a cruise control guy), living each day with Passion and a Commitment to doing things right. With the love and support of his two boys (Alec and Aidan) and Patti (his wife whom he met in college) they so value being able to do as much as they do as a family from Church on Sundays, Summers up at Burt Lake, or attempting to drain the game winning three pointer with the boys' school basketball teams.
Meet Brian's Team:
Lise works as an Account Manager and works directly with clients onsite at their company locations throughout the state. She assists clients with renewing their plans and educating their employees on the benefits they are offered. If asked, Lise will say doing employee meetings is her favorite thing she gets to do. She has 20 years’ experience in group insurance and enjoys the ever changing environment.
Lise lives in Cadillac with her husband, Gregg and their two boys, Gerritt and Miles. They enjoy downhill skiing and playing musical instruments, which means her house is very loud. Disney World is her favorite vacation spot. She says it’s magical.
Brigitte is an Account Coordinator for Brian’s team and serves as a point of contact for Human Resources to help with any inquiries or issues they may be experiencing. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 2010 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Brigitte is passionate about helping people and building relationships. Her number one priority is customer satisfaction.
Brigitte lives in Lake City with her husband, two sons and chocolate lab. She spends much of her free time visiting other members of her family, who live close by. During the winter months, Brigitte and her husband enjoy hitting the slopes. The rest of the year, you can usually find Brigitte and her family spending time together outdoors.
Lynda strives to make client satisfaction a top priority as she serves as a point of contact for Human Resources departments in her role as customer service representative. From general questions to complicated issues, she is not afraid to dig in and do what is needed to get to the root of an issue in order to bring resolution. Lynda’s background in the healthcare field proves to be an asset not only to Human Resource departments as they navigate group benefits, but also to individuals who need help navigating through their personal healthcare questions. If a customer needs assistance with an issue or has a benefit question after hours, quite often they will find Lynda on the other end of the line in our 24/7 Customer Service department.
Lynda lives in the small town of Falmouth, Michigan with her husband, Jeff, and three children, Jennifer, Jakob and Andrew. In the warmer months you will find Lynda and her family visiting campgrounds around the state. They like to discover new places to visit, but have a few favorites that they tend to fall back on as well. In the cooler months you’ll find the Roby’s around the bonfire in their backyard enjoying nature and watching the stars, and once it really gets cold, Lynda will be found snuggling inside with a good book and her over-sized cat. While not an athletic person, Lynda was inducted into her company’s “Wellness Wall of Fame” because of her growing passion for personal wellness as well as her encouragement of those around her on their own wellness journeys.
Victoria works in the TPA as a Patient Advocate. Victoria has an Associates of Applied Science degree and came to us with 7 years of medical billing and coding experience. Victoria lives in Cadillac, Michigan with her fiancé, Ryan, two daughters, and son. They enjoy ice skating, bowling, sledding and running as a family. If she were to name one thing she’s really good at it, it would be playing softball. She has been playing since 2nd grade and continues to play now on a coed summer league. She has a pretty good arm on her.
Angie supports the TPA as a Patient Advocate. She brings with her a Medical Office background with 13 years’ experience in customer service. She appreciates the passion and integrity of 44North and values the way the teams work together caring for members and clients in a way that sets a new standard in the industry. She is devoted to advocating for her clients, whether it’s helping them understand their benefits, listening to their issues, finding answers, saving them unnecessary expenditures or discovering creative ways to meet their needs.
Angie is a native to Cadillac, Michigan and lives here with her husband and children. In the summers Angie and her family can be found in the woods hiking, camping, or just exploring with her family. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family.
Jeannee joined the 44North team in 2015 as a Claims Analyst. As a Claims Analyst, Jeanne audits accounts, processes claims, provides customer service and also trains new employees at 44North. She loves being able to help members save money by correcting claims that have been processed incorrectly. It’s very rewarding to be able tell someone that they no longer owe money for a bill they’ve just received.
In her free time Jeannee enjoys gardening, kayaking and spending time with her family. Someday, she would love to take a camper and travel across the U.S. site seeing. She would love to start by going to the Grand Canyon, and then visit all the little towns that no one knows are there.
Cassie joined the 44North team in March of 2017 as a Claims Analyst. Her focus is to provide customer service to our members by being sure incoming claims are processed correctly and efficiently. Cassie enjoys working with members and providers to ensure accuracy and peace of mind when it comes to health care. Part of her role as a Claims Analyst is working with other team members such as Patient Advocates, to make sure all the edges are smooth with a member’s claim, not just the dollar amount on the bill.
Cassie is a native of Northern Michigan, and now resides in Lake City. Family is very important to her and she enjoys sitting around a fire catching up with those closest to her. In her free time, Cassie enjoys traveling to scenic areas of Michigan and learning the history of it. If she had an all-expenses paid trip, Cassie would take the opportunity to explore Colorado to see the Rocky Mountains and hit some National Parks on her way back home to Michigan!
Kayla is part of the TPA claims department. She assists her team members by processing and analyzing claims to assure they coincide with the customer’s chosen plans. Kayla is a graduate of Baker College with an Associates of Applied Science as a Medical Insurance Specialist. She enjoys figuring out the different quirks in the insurance world and the different plans we offer our customers. It is important to her to make certain the claims are processing correctly so we can assure our plans are running as expected.
Kayla is very family oriented. In her free time, you can find her appreciating time with her boyfriend, her parents and brother, and spoiling her nephew and animals. Whether they are out at a lighthouse, the racetrack, or simply just sitting at home watching a movie, time with her loved ones is important. During the summer she enjoys being outside, camping, fishing or soaking up the sun. However, during the winter months you can find Kayla cuddled up watching a movie when she has spare time. Her all-time favorite movie is Forrest Gump; she reminisces watching it with her grandma every time she stayed with her.
